It will be for the first in Indian hockey that players attending the national camp have been instructed to play in a domestic tournament.
The tournament, Mumbai Gold Cup, to be held at Mahindra Stadium from October 20 received a major boost when Hockey India wrote a mail to India's High Performance Manager Roelant Oltmans to release players of the teams participating in the tournament.

One of Mumbai's oldest and premier hockey tournament's is likely to revamped this year.
"We wanted to the best players to participate in this tournament. So we approached Hockey India secretary Narendra Batra and requested him help us. He dashed off a mail to the concerned authorities, including Oltmans, to check if this was possible," Mumbai Hockey Association secretary Ram Singh Rathor told Mirror.
With seven-eight outstation teams, and four local, set to take part in the tournament, there are in all 13 players from the national camp that could join their respective teams in the forthcoming tournament.
